First launched in 1990, the Australian Kookaburra series quickly became a flagship for The Perth Mint's silver, pairing native wildlife artistry with high-purity bullion trusted worldwide.

The 2025 release celebrates the series’ 35th anniversary with a powerful portrayal of a kookaburra perched on a tree branch, framed by radiant sunburst lines and a privy that pays tribute to the original 1990 design.

Each coin is struck from 10 troy ounces of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender for 10 dollars. The reverse bears the inscriptions “KOOKABURRA” and “35th ANNIVERSARY”, together with the 2025 year-date, weight and fineness, while the obverse features Dan Thorne’s effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the monetary denomination.

Although the mintage is technically unlimited, production ended in 2025. The Perth Mint will later announce the final mintage, adding interest for bullion buyers who follow series key dates.
