Discover Australia was a three-year Perth Mint program celebrating key Australian locations through rich colour on frosted 1oz silver proofs. Coins were issued in separate timber boxes, with a special subscription-only presentation case for the complete set.

Each year’s five-coin set focuses on different landmarks:

  • The 2006 coins feature Melbourne, Uluru, Canberra, Perth, and the Great Barrier Reef in full colour.
  • The 2007 coins depict the Gold Coast, Phillip Island, Port Arthur, Adelaide, and Sydney in colour.
  • The 2008 coins depict Broome, Brisbane, Hobart, Kakadu, and Darwin, also shown in full colour.

Each coin is struck in 99.9% pure silver, with a proof finish and a coloured reverse. Across 15 coins, the set contains 15 oz of fine silver, housed in original Perth Mint timber presentation cases with outer packaging.
